Job Opportunity: House Supervisor (Night Shift)

Job Overview

• Role involves maintaining delivery of quality nursing care by ensuring nursing care plans are followed.
• Supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities following orientation.
• Participates in team building and promotes a positive, efficient work environment.
• Prioritizes patient and employee safety, adhering to safety policies and procedures.
• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating.
• Initiates discharge planning and patient teaching from day of admission.
• Communicates patient status changes to care providers to ensure continuity and safety.
• Provides direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintains communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, equipment, and training.
• Actively pursues professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Develop individualized plans of care based on assessments.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Provide calm direction and reassurance to staff, patients, and families.
• Monitor supplies and promote cost-effective care while ensuring quality outcomes.

Required Skills and Certifications

• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift for CIRH only)
• Acute Care Background (LTAC, ICU) required
• Previous Charge Nurse experience required
• Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience highly desired

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Additional Notes

• Emphasis on patient and employee safety with focus on safe patient handling, infectious disease control, and workplace hazard awareness.
• Must follow hospital guidelines on personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
• Expected to use problem-solving techniques in decision-making, organizing, and prioritizing work.
