Job Opportunity: General X-Ray Technologist (Weekend Shifts)

Job Description

• Verify patients' identity and review physicians’ orders before beginning x-ray procedures.
• Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians’ orders.
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions.
• Position patients accordingly, including lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.
• Handle all radiologic equipment safely, keeping radiation dose to patients as low as possible.
• Observe each patient’s status and interpret information to meet age-specific needs.
• Produce diagnostic, high-quality images for Radiologist interpretation.
• Notify management promptly of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
• Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient details and exam specifics.
• Maintain accurate patient record keeping and ensure images are correctly sent to the PACS system.
• Ability to report within 30 minutes to on-call shifts.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State license or ability to obtain prior to starting.
• Minimum 2 years of X-Ray Technologist experience (including Level 1 trauma center experience).
• Experience using c-arm/o-arm within the past 8 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association only).
• Ability to move or lift patients.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Patient and compassionate disposition.
• Team player capable of maintaining a cohesive working environment.
• Must be able to report within 30 minutes to on-call shifts.

Schedule

• 36 hours per week.
• Weekend shifts: Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
• 3 shifts of 12 hours each (shift times to be determined).
• On-call, callbacks, and holiday coverage as needed.
