Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PRN - Night)

Job Summary

• Provide ongoing, systematic assessment of patients' physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs through interviews, observation, and physical examination.
• Receive admissions and transfers to the unit.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans including problem identification, nursing diagnosis, interventions, goals, and discharge planning.
• Assess patient safety and fall risk.
• Teach and counsel patients and families; make referrals as needed.
• Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team in rehabilitation goal planning and evaluation.
• Accurately transcribe and process medical orders; integrate medical care plans into nursing care.
• Administer medications and IV drugs according to policies and procedures, including critical drip medications after competency training.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
• Handle emergency and life-threatening situations, including CPR and calling Code Blue.
• Document patient care accurately and timely, including discharge instructions and interagency transfer forms.
• Perform complete head-to-toe assessments each shift; act promptly on changes in patient condition using SBAR communication.
• Review lab and test results; notify physicians of abnormal or critical findings.
• Perform wound care and basic ventilator management.
• Provide leadership and direction to assigned personnel (LPNs, CNAs, orientees).
• Prioritize activities and plan effective use of time and staff.
• Communicate nursing care plans through reports, conferences, and shift handoffs.
• Participate in nursing quality improvement activities.
• Maintain current nursing licensure and certifications.
• Demonstrate competency in nursing skills annually.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and isolation guidelines.
• Promote continuous quality improvement and customer service attitude.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification (required prior to first shift)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Additional Notes

• The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees.
• Must maintain current nursing licensure and acquire continuing education as needed.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
