Job Opportunity: Registered Dietitian

Job Description

• Deliver superior quality care while adhering to core company values such as respect, teamwork, and resourcefulness.
• Prioritize patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling, infection control, and workplace hazard awareness.
• Perform nutrition assessments and reassessments; identify nutrition goals and interventions.
• Develop and monitor enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support regimens in collaboration with pharmacy and medical staff.
• Collaborate with Speech Therapy on diet progression and transitional feeding.
• Clarify admission orders to ensure consistency with nutrition support formulary and diet manual.
• Consider religious, cultural, and ethnic factors in nutrition care plans.
• Evaluate potential food/drug and herb/supplement interactions.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and staff.
• Develop and implement educational programs for patients and staff.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and rounds (e.g., wound care, ventilator weaning).
• Engage in departmental and facility performance improvement programs.
• Serve as a resource to food service staff to ensure patient care plans are implemented correctly.
• Participate in menu planning, review, and approval of therapeutic diets and substitutions.
• Conduct meal rounds and tray audits to ensure quality and compliance with prescribed diets.
• Maintain and educate staff on the Nutrition Care Manual and therapeutic diet updates.
• Stay current with nutritional practices, maintain professional registration, and pursue continuing education.
• Act as a liaison between patients, multidisciplinary teams, medical staff, and food service.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition or related field.
• Current state licensure/certification (if required by state).
• Current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical work experience in a facility setting or equivalent.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks
