Job Opportunity: Level 4 Cardiac Surgical Technologist

Job Summary

• Work in the Adult Cardiac Operating Room caring for patients undergoing procedures such as CABG, TAVI, Heart Failure treatments (VADs, ECMO, Artificial Heart, Heart Transplants).
• Provide technical support by preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Assist the surgical team from the scrub position during operations.
• Responsible for proper care and handling of instruments, room turnover between cases, maintaining sterile technique, safe handling of sharps, and performing surgical counts.
• Handle solutions and pharmacologic agents under the direction of a registered nurse.

Requirements

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years recent experience in a cardiac operating room.
• Certification:

  • NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
  • NY Tech License required.
• Able to scrub and circulate during surgeries.
• Operating room experience in a level 1 trauma center is highly desired but not required.

Work Schedule

• 36 or 48 hours per week.
• DEN rotation including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed.
