Job Opportunity: Level 3 RN - Emergency Department Observation Unit

Job Description

• Provide care for adult patients in the Observation unit, which manages patients needing additional observation to determine if hospital admission is necessary or if they can be safely discharged.
• Fast-paced environment with 20 to 27 patient turnovers per day.
• Average patient length of stay is approximately 27 hours.
• Unit operates with 24/7 provider coverage.
• Care for a diverse adult population including emergency observation and admitted boarding patients, ranging from short stays to full admissions.

Requirements

• RN License: Must have a New York State RN license.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience.
• Telemetry: Required.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (American Heart Association only) – Required
  • ACLS (American Heart Association only) – Required
  • NIHSS – Preferred

Work Schedule

• Days, evenings, nights, rotating shifts
• On call, call back, charge responsibilities
• Holidays and weekends as needed

Additional Notes

• Specialty years of experience required: 2 years Med/Surg nursing.
• No indication that prior travel experience is required.
