Job Opportunity: Registered Dietitian

Job Summary

• Provide quality nutritional care including development, implementation, and monitoring of Medical Nutrition Therapy.
• Perform nutrition assessments and reassessments, identify nutrition goals and interventions, and monitor patient progress.
• Develop and monitor enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support regimens in collaboration with pharmacy and medical staff.
• Collaborate with Speech Therapy on diet progression and transitional feeding.
• Ensure nutrition support, diet, and oral supplement orders align with facility guidelines.
• Consider religious, cultural, and ethnic factors in nutrition care plans.
• Evaluate potential food/drug and herb/supplement interactions.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and staff.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and rounds (e.g., wound care, vent weaning).
• Participate in departmental and facility performance improvement programs.
• Serve as a resource to food service staff regarding special diet preparations and menu planning.
• Review and approve therapeutic diet manuals and menus.
• Maintain current knowledge of nutritional practices and professional development.
• Act as liaison between patients, medical staff, multidisciplinary team, and food service.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with major studies in Food and Nutrition or related field.
• Current state licensure/certification as required.
• Current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities or equivalent.
