Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist

Job Description

• Plan, organize, develop, administer, direct, and supervise occupational therapy treatment in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines.
• Assess patient’s level of functioning upon physician orders.
• Plan and implement appropriate treatment based on assessment.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
• Complete documentation according to department policies, including daily progress notes and treatment plans.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and OT students.
• Promote patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling and infection control.
• Maintain flexibility in scheduling and cooperate in resolving conflicts.
• Attend team conferences and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Demonstrate good safety techniques and observe patient confidentiality.
• Instill confidence in team members, patients, and families.
• Budget time and set priorities effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid, current State Occupational Therapist license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required prior to first shift.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• Certification as an Occupational Therapist is required.
