Job Opportunity: Electrophysiology Registered Nurse (EP RN)

Job Summary

An Electrophysiology Technologist RN performs diagnostic electrophysiology procedures and interventions such as electrocardiograms in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, ensuring equipment functionality, monitoring recordings during procedures, assisting with lab analysis, and supporting physicians with pacing implementation and device installations related to cardiac health.

Typical Procedures

• RF ablations (Cryo ablations) for Atrial Fibrillation/Flutter, Atrial Tachycardia, AVNRT, WPW, and other arrhythmias
• Use of mapping systems such as Biosense Webster Carto, Abbott Ensite/Precision, Rhythmia
• Device implants including traditional pacemakers (single, dual, CSP, BiV), ICDs, Subcutaneous ICDs, Leadless pacemakers, Loop recorders, and LAAC devices (Watchman, Amulet)
• Assisting with laser and low-risk HRE procedures

Schedule

• 3 x 12-hour shifts
• Primarily day shifts with some late nights (evenings)
• Includes holidays, on-call/call as needed
• No weekends at this time

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New York State only
• Minimum 2 years of experience in electrophysiology nursing
• Proficiency in moderate sedation
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Experience communicating effectively with physicians and clinical staff to ensure smooth procedure flow
• Ability to assist in sterile field preparation and maintain patient focus during procedures
• Experience with Epic documentation system is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Cardiac implant or structural heart scrub experience
• Familiarity with GE MacLab & CardioLab systems

Additional Information

• The EP RN assists anesthesia, documents during studies and ablations, and provides backup pacing during implants
• Coordinates with charge nurses and vendors to ensure team availability and timely patient care
