Job Opportunity: Pediatric X-Ray Technologist

Job Summary

Seeking a Pediatric X-Ray Technologist responsible for performing radiographic imaging on pediatric patients, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images, and maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and review physicians’ orders before procedures.
• Use x-ray equipment to capture images of bones, tissues, and organs as ordered.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Position and assist patients, including those with limited mobility.
• Safely handle radiologic equipment, minimizing radiation dose.
• Observe and respond to age-specific patient needs.
• Produce diagnostic-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
• Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly.
• Utilize electronic patient information systems for verification and record-keeping.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure images are correctly sent to PACS.
• Ability to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts.

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• On-call, callback, and holiday shifts as needed

Required Qualifications

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State X-Ray Technologist license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association only).
• Minimum 2 years of X-Ray Technologist experience.
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric experience in a children’s hospital.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
• Ability to move or lift patients and stand for extended periods.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Compassionate and patient-focused demeanor.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Additional Skills

• Familiarity with pediatric fluoroscopy exams (UGI, VCUGs, Barium Enema, etc.).
• Experience with NICU portable imaging.
