MRI Technologist (Pediatric)

Job Summary

Seeking an MRI Technologist experienced in pediatric imaging (neonates through age 18). The candidate must be able to operate MRI machines efficiently, provide age-appropriate care, and coordinate with physicians to ensure timely diagnostic results.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in magnetic resonance imaging or radiology
• ARRT certification required
• NYS Radiologic Technologist License required (must obtain prior to start if not currently held)
• Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience
• At least 6 months of pediatric MRI experience
• Siemens MRI scanner experience required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe scanning environment
• Prepare and explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort
• Insert IVs when necessary (IV placement not performed at this facility)
• Document procedures while maintaining patient confidentiality
• Provide patient care as needed
• Adhere to MRI safety policies and guidelines
• Adjust scanning parameters for different patient ages
• Screen and prepare patients properly for scanning
• Identify contraindications for safe scanning
• Independently determine when to stop scans due to motion and when sedation/anesthesia is needed

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM EST
• On call/callback and holidays as needed
