Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary

Provide quality respiratory care including intensive respiratory treatments and patient transport as prescribed. Evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans. Educate patients on treatments, tests, and equipment. Perform various respiratory procedures and operate ventilatory equipment with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal).
• Monitor oxygenation and ventilation using oximetry and capnography.
• Review chest x-rays and perform 12-Lead EKG with basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Conduct pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with respiratory-related procedures (bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, tracheostomy care).
• Perform arterial puncture and monitor ventilation efficiency.
• Follow laboratory testing policies for specimen handling and quality control.
• Perform CPR according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Insert and remove endotracheal tubes using free hand or video laryngoscope techniques.
• Operate, maintain, and monitor mechanical ventilators.
• Document treatments and patient responses accurately.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and during shift hand-offs.
• Maintain respiratory therapy billing and data entry.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Oklahoma.
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year.
• Experience in a Long Term Acute Care (LTACH) setting.
• Ventilator weaning experience.
