Description

Registered Nurse

Job Summary

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
  • Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide timely patient information for team conferences and document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and deliver direct patient care using the nursing process.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity and safety.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
  • Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team-building activities.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, equipment, and training.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation as requested.
  • Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
  • Prioritize activities and staff to meet patient needs effectively.

Contract Length

  • Approximately 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift
  • ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (if applicable)
  • Minimum of 2 years bedside clinical experience highly desired

Additional Information

  • Supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees may be required.
  • Emphasis on patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling, infection control, and workplace hazard awareness.
