Job Opportunity: SMH Level 2 RN 412 Palliative Care

Job Description

• Work on a unit for adult patients (18+) with intensive symptom management needs at end of life.
• Manage patients with complex needs and families in crisis.
• Provide astute assessments to advocate for patients who often cannot speak for themselves.
• The unit also handles general medicine overflow.
• Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification is highly desired.

Required Qualifications

• License: New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License only.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience in palliative care or acute medical/surgical nursing.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Skills: Good IV skills, wound care skills, and compassion.
• Additional Desired: Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification.

Schedule

• 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Rotating shifts (day, evening, night).
• Includes weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.

Notes

• Telemetry experience is not required.
