Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist - Days

Job Summary

Perform diagnostic quality radiologic imaging in Interventional Radiology. Prepare and instruct patients for examinations, assist Radiologists during procedures, and operate all related equipment proficiently. Maintain professionalism, teamwork, and patient sensitivity throughout all interactions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Select appropriate exposure factors and positioning to produce diagnostic-quality images.
• Assist Radiologists during procedures and prepare patients accordingly.
• Operate all radiology equipment competently and report malfunctions.
• Complete assigned procedures efficiently and assist with room turnover and departmental support.
• Maintain medication security, ensuring access only to authorized personnel.
• Provide healthcare services competently across all age groups.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with patients and staff.
• Use Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS effectively.
• Participate in hospital performance improvement activities as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper use of patient care systems.
• Handle technical telephone inquiries professionally.

Schedule

• 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts.
• On-call/callback/holiday coverage as needed.
• Approximately 5-7 call shifts per 7-week period, including 2-4 weekend call days.
• Contract length: Will consider 6-month contracts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid New York State Radiologic Technologist License (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
• VIR (Vascular and Interventional Radiology) certification.
• Technician license accepted (any Tech License valid in New York State).

Preferred Qualifications

• VIR Certification preferred (required in this role).
