Occupational Therapist

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Assess patients’ level of functioning upon physician orders.
• Plan and implement appropriate treatment based on assessments.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
• Complete documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and OT students in applying occupational therapy theory and techniques.
• Assist with new staff orientation.
• Promote patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling, materials handling, infection control, and workplace safety.
• Maintain professional appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
• Deliver individualized treatment plans based on evaluations and patient/family goals.
• Collaborate with team members to provide optimal patient care.
• Attend team conferences and contribute relevant information.
• Manage discharge planning thoroughly, including equipment recommendations and documentation.
• Demonstrate good safety techniques for patients, self, others, and equipment.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid, current State Occupational Therapist license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.
