Registered Nurse

Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Maintain delivery of quality nursing care by following the nursing care plan.
  • Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees.
  • Collaborate with physicians to implement assessment plans, evaluate, and follow up on patient care.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs.
  • Receive admissions and transfers; complete nursing database within 24 hours.
  • Develop and update nursing care plans including problem identification, nursing diagnosis, interventions, goals, and discharge planning.
  • Assess patient safety and fall risk levels.
  • Teach and counsel patients and families; make referrals as needed.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team activities related to rehabilitation goals.
  • Transcribe and process medical orders accurately; integrate medical care plans into nursing care.
  • Administer medications and IVs according to policies; evaluate effectiveness of PRN medications.
  • Manage critical drip medications after competency training.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety according to policies.
  • Handle emergency and life-threatening situations, including CPR and calling Code Blue.
  • Document all nursing activities, patient care, and discharge instructions accurately and timely.
  • Perform head-to-toe assessments each shift; act promptly on changes in patient condition using SBAR communication.
  • Review lab and test results; notify physicians of abnormal or critical findings.
  • Perform wound care and basic ventilator management.
  • Provide leadership and direction to assigned personnel; delegate and monitor tasks.
  • Prioritize activities and plan effective use of time and staff.
  • Communicate nursing care plans through reports, conferences, and shift handoffs.
  • Participate in nursing quality improvement activities.
  • Maintain and upgrade nursing skills and licensure.
  • Demonstrate competency in nursing skills annually.
  • Exhibit customer service attitude toward patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Follow safety, infection control, and isolation guidelines.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement in nursing practice.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • BLS certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to first shift.
  • Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience highly desired.

Additional Information

  • Night shift position.
  • Continuous education and competency evaluations required.
