Occupational Therapist

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours: 20 hours per week

Job Description

• Plan, organize, develop, administer, direct, and supervise occupational therapy treatment in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines.
• Assess patient’s level of functioning upon physician orders and implement appropriate treatment plans.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
• Complete all required documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and OT students; assist with new staff orientation.
• Promote patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling, materials handling, infection control, and workplace safety.
• Maintain a customer service attitude toward patients, visitors, and staff.
• Collaborate with team members to provide optimal patient care.
• Attend team conferences and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrate good safety techniques and observe patient confidentiality.
• Manage time effectively and prioritize duties.

Required Qualifications

• Valid, current State Occupational Therapist license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift.
