Occupational Therapist
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours: 20 hours per week
Job Description
- Plan, organize, develop, administer, direct, and supervise occupational therapy treatment in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines.
- Assess patient’s level of functioning upon physician orders and implement appropriate treatment plans.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
- Complete all required documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and OT students; assist with new staff orientation.
- Promote patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling, materials handling, infection control, and workplace safety.
- Maintain a customer service attitude toward patients, visitors, and staff.
- Collaborate with team members to provide optimal patient care.
- Attend team conferences and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate good safety techniques and observe patient confidentiality.
- Manage time effectively and prioritize duties.
Required Qualifications
- Valid, current State Occupational Therapist license.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift.
