Registered Nurse

Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
  • Identify patient teaching needs and goals related to diagnoses in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide timely patient information for initial and weekly team conferences.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs on assigned units.
  • Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.
  • Focus on patient/family education to achieve patient goals and quality outcomes.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity and safety.
  • Seek consultation from senior nursing staff for complex clinical decisions.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
  • Contribute positively to unit functioning by providing calm leadership and reassurance.
  • Participate in team-building activities to foster a positive work environment.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs.
  • Provide cost-effective care while promoting quality patient outcomes.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities following orientation, as requested.
  • Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
  • Prioritize activities and plan effective use of time and staff to meet patient needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule

  • 3 shifts per week, night shift

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift
  • ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (for certain roles)
  • Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience highly desired
