Occupational Therapist

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Plan, organize, develop, administer, direct, and supervise occupational therapy treatment in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines.
• Assess patient’s level of functioning upon physician orders and implement appropriate treatment plans.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
• Complete all required documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and OT students, including orientation and application of therapy techniques.
• Promote patient and employee safety, focusing on safe patient handling, infectious disease control, and workplace hazard awareness.
• Maintain professional appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Demonstrate continuous quality improvement and customer service attitude.
• Attend team conferences and collaborate to provide optimal patient care.
• Manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid, current State Occupational Therapist license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required prior to first shift.
