Registered Nurse
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
- Identify patient teaching needs and goals related to diagnoses through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information for initial and weekly team conferences.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs on assigned units.
- Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.
- Focus on patient/family education to achieve health goals and quality outcomes.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity and safety.
- Seek consultation from senior nursing staff for complex clinical decisions.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety according to policies.
- Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team-building activities.
- Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs.
- Provide care cost-effectively while promoting quality outcomes.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation, as requested.
- Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
- Prioritize activities and staff to meet patient needs effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (if applicable).
- Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience.
- PCU/Critical Care experience highly desired.
Additional Information
- Supervisory responsibility over Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.
- Emphasis on patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling, infection control, and workplace hazard awareness.
