Location: Bronx, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Overview:
HumanEdge Health is seeking a Travel Interventional Radiology RN for an acute care hospital in the Bronx, NY. This role supports a busy IR department with exposure to complex vascular, CT-guided, ultrasound-guided, and pain management procedures. The department is open to first-time travelers with solid IR experience.

Unit Details:

  • Unit Type: Interventional Radiology (IR)
  • IR Suites: 1 IR room
  • Cath Lab used for vascular procedures (RN may go between both units in the same day)
  • Staffing: 7 RNs total
  • Average Volume:
    • IR: 5–8 procedures per day
    • CT prep / IV starts: ~50 patients per day

Schedule:

  • 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
  • No call requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient care across all phases: pre-, intra-, and post-procedure
  • Assessment and documentation via Radiology Flowsheets
  • IV insertions and CT/MRI preps for adult and pediatric patients
  • Monitoring patients undergoing sedation and pacemaker scans
  • Communication with physicians and mid-level providers regarding plan of care
  • Support procedures across IR, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Cath Lab (IR-specific cases only)

Common Procedures & Diagnoses:

  • Complex vascular procedures: embolizations, thrombectomies (PE, DVT using INARI or EKOS)
  • Biopsies (IR, breast, CT-guided, ultrasound-guided)
  • Drain placements (abscesses, pleural effusions, paracentesis)
  • Pain management injections (cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine; shoulder, hip, knee)
  • Line placements: PICCs, permcaths, tunneled catheters, ports, chemo ports
  • Fistula interrogations

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (license to submit required)
  • Minimum 1 year of IR RN experience
  • Proficiency with IV starts (required)
  • Required Certifications:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • PALS (mandatory; pediatric experience not required)
  • BSN not required
  • Critical care experience preferred but not required
