Travel Ophthalmic Technician – Optometry
Boston, MA
Start Date: 04/20/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 40 Hours/Week | Monday–Friday
Shift: Days (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)

Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to support a busy optometry practice. This role involves preparing patients for exams, performing diagnostic testing, and ensuring efficient patient flow while supporting providers in delivering high-quality eye care.

Responsibilities:

Escort patients and obtain detailed ocular and medical histories
Perform visual acuity testing and refractions
Measure intraocular pressure using tonopen and applanation
Administer eye drops and prepare patients for exams
Conduct diagnostic testing including visual fields, OCT, fundus photography, autorefraction, A/B scans, lensometry, and topography
Monitor provider schedules and manage patient flow
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Stock exam rooms and maintain/clean equipment
Assist with training and ongoing education initiatives

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required
Certification required: COA, COT, or COMT (JCAHPO)
Minimum 1 year of ophthalmic/optometry experience
Strong clinical and patient care skills

Preferred:

Completion of an accredited ophthalmic training program
Experience with advanced diagnostic equipment
