Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – Part-Time | Temp-to-Perm
Location: Manhattan, NY
Schedule: 21 hours/week (0.6 FTE)
Position Type: Contract → Permanent
Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for a unique temp-to-perm opportunity supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and co-occurring mental health conditions.
This role offers meaningful, patient-centered work within an interdisciplinary team and strong long-term stability with a transition to a $96,000/year permanent salary + full benefits.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses
- Manage and prescribe psychotropic medications
- Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans
- Provide crisis intervention and ongoing follow-up care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (MDs, therapists, DSPs, care managers)
- Ensure compliance with OPWDD / OMH standards and documentation
Must-Haves
- Active NY Nurse Practitioner license
- Board Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health NP (PMHNP-BC)
- 2+ years psychiatric clinical experience
- Experience with medication management
- Strong documentation and clinical assessment skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with OPWDD or IDD populations
- Bilingual (Spanish a plus)
- Experience with EHR systems
