Job Summary

The RN is responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care with a focus on quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. This role includes supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, applying evidence-based practice, and participating in education and practice governance. The RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates patient care plans while promoting patient comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN also mentors and precepts staff members.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as mentor/preceptor.
• Promote teamwork and communicate opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives and implement practice changes.
• Comply with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance.

Contract Length

Approximately 17 weeks

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience.

Education Requirements

• Nursing Diploma OR Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN).

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale).
