Job Opportunity: RN PACU - FS

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Specialty: Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Job Description

Under general supervision, provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Core responsibilities include:

Managing an assigned group of patients
Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
Assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
Monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary
Administering medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products
Delivering competent patient care
Communicating care plans with patients and families during hospital stay and discharge
Informing patients and families about hospital procedures
Referring patient care needs to appropriate personnel
Delegating tasks to support staff
Performing other assigned duties

Contract Length

13 weeks

Required Experience

Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in the specialty

Education Requirements

Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program (required)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher (preferred)

Certifications & Licensure

Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association

Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
Some computer skills
Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees
