Registered Nurse - Oncology Clinic
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Registered Nurse - Direct Care
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Under general supervision, provides nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex. Core responsibilities include:
- Managing an assigned group of patients
- Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
- Assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary
- Administering prescribed medications
- Initiating and monitoring intravenous infusions and blood products
- Delivering competent patient care
- Communicating care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and discharge
- Informing patients and families about hospital procedures
- Referring patient care needs to appropriate personnel
- Delegating tasks to support staff
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing experience within the last year
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Skills
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues
