CT Technologist
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The CT Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images that meet or exceed department and industry standards. This role requires thorough knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and image quality. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, educating and addressing patient questions or concerns, and ensuring age-appropriate communication and safety. The technologist applies radiation safety techniques, oversees infection control, and may train students providing patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify ordered exams and appropriateness using assessment data and growth/development principles.
- Administer contrast as directed.
- Position patients and equipment to achieve optimal images.
- Collaborate with physicians to evaluate images and determine if additional images are needed.
- Apply radiation safety techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Prepare patients professionally, educate, and respond to questions or concerns with an age-appropriate approach.
- Maintain infection control and quality control standards.
- Oversee and train students in patient care and imaging procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years of CT scanning experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT (CT) certification
- BLS certification
