Job Description

Under general supervision, provides nursing care to a variety of pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex in an ICU setting.

Essential Responsibilities

• Manage care for an assigned group of patients.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe patient conditions and intervene as necessary.
• Administer medications, initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Deliver competent patient care.
• Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
• Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Delegate tasks to support staff.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience within the last year.
• Experience working with Level I trauma patients in an ICU setting.

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.

Additional Information

• No prior travel experience required.
