Registered Nurse - Oncology Surgical

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Registered Nurse, Direct Care
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Stepdown and MedSurg (both required)
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Description

Provide nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex under general supervision.
Responsible for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments.
Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient conditions, and intervene as necessary.
Administer prescribed medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products.
Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
Inform patients and families about hospital procedures and make referrals for patient care needs.
Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year.
Stepdown nursing experience.
Experience with oncology patients.
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
