RN - PACU
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Day
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and reassessing patients according to policy and patient condition
- Developing, implementing, and revising individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Monitoring and documenting patient responses to clinical interventions
- Providing education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge
- Leading and mentoring licensed and non-licensed staff, delegating tasks appropriately
- Participating in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives
- Complying with regulatory standards and engaging in Practice Governance
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years of Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
