Description
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Bricktown, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: Night (7 PM - 7 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: 1 Summer and 1 Winter holiday
On-Call Requirement: No
Float Requirement: No
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide and administer all aspects of respiratory care therapy and supportive equipment under medical direction and supervision. Responsibilities include:
- Respiratory therapy for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies
- Intubation assistance and ventilator set-up and management
- Patient evaluation, disease education, testing, and coordination with healthcare professionals
- Patient and caregiver education and documentation
- Collaborate with team members to support patient care goals
- Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior
- Physical requirements: lift, push, and pull minimum 5 lbs; stand at least 1 hour per day
- Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist within the last year
Skills
- Mechanical ventilation management
- Arterial blood gas analysis
