Step down and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/ONCC certification required for the shift

Job Description

Provide nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex under general supervision
Responsible for an assigned group of patients
Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; note changes in physician orders
Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe patient conditions and intervene as necessary
Administer medications as prescribed
Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
Deliver competent patient care
Communicate care plans to patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge
Inform patients and families about hospital procedures
Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
Delegate tasks to support staff

Required Qualifications

Education

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Experience

Minimum 1 year of Oncology nursing experience within the last year
Stepdown experience

Licenses & Certifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
