Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology Surgical

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts, both Standard Day (SD) and Mid Shift (MS) required
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description

Provide nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex under general supervision.
Responsible for an assigned group of patients, documenting patient responses and changes in physician orders.
Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient conditions, and intervene as necessary.
Administer prescribed medications and manage intravenous infusions and blood products.
Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
Make referrals for patient care needs and delegate tasks to support staff.

Required Qualifications

Education

Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program (minimum).

Experience

Minimum 1 year of Surgical Oncology nursing experience within the last year.

Licensure & Certifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) certification.
