Registered Nurse - Medicine Specialty

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Direct Care Registered Nurse
Shift: Med/Surg and Step down required; may be floated to any area of the hospital
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide nursing care under general supervision to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing an assigned group of patients
• Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
• Assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary
• Administering medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products
• Delivering competent patient care
• Communicating care plans and hospital procedures to patients and families
• Making referrals for patient care needs
• Delegating tasks to support staff

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oklahoma
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
• Stepdown nursing experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

• May be floated to any area of the hospital as needed
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher is preferred but not required
• No prior travel experience required for this position
