Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location

  • Louisville, Kentucky

Employment Type

  • Clinical Nursing
  • Night shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), every other weekend
  • 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Job Summary

  • Accountable for the care of a group of patients on a telemetry unit.
  • Focus on safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care.
  • Responsible for patient assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
  • Provides education to patients and families during stay and at discharge.
  • Supervises licensed and non-licensed staff; serves as mentor/preceptor.
  • Participates in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
  • Applies evidence-based practice within a Practice Governance framework.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
  • Experience in an inpatient setting
  • Acute care nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

  • Perform patient assessments and reassessments; make independent clinical decisions.
  • Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to interventions.
  • Facilitate and evaluate patient and family education.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and foster teamwork.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in practice changes.
