Job Summary

• Accountable for the care of a group of patients in a Mother/Baby unit.
• Focus on safe, effective patient- and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
• Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized plans of care.
• Applies evidence-based practice and supports education within a Practice Governance framework.
• Supervises licensed and non-licensed staff, mentors and precepts team members.
• Uses the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care to guide caring processes.
• Promotes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assessments and reassessments according to policy or patient condition.
• Initiate, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and foster teamwork.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in quality, safety, and service process initiatives.
• Comply with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Minimum 2 years of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• NRP-Advanced certification
• STABLE certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Acute care nursing experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
