Description

Radiology Tech

Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic examinations with minimal supervision. Key duties include:

  • Positioning patients and selecting appropriate technical factors for imaging
  • Operating radiographic equipment and restricting radiation exposure to unaffected areas
  • Performing portable x-rays in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms
  • Developing and processing x-ray films, marking films correctly, and maintaining records
  • Assisting physicians with radiopaque contrast media administration
  • Providing patient assistance based on individual needs (mobility, communication, etc.)
  • Performing administrative tasks such as scheduling and patient instruction
  • Lifting at least 5 lbs., pushing/pulling 10 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 6 hours daily

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technologist license in New Jersey
  • Minimum of 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working as a Radiologic Technologist in an acute care setting
  • Experience working with pediatric patients
  • Completion of ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
  • High school diploma or its equivalent

Work Schedule & Requirements

  • 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM)
  • Every 3rd weekend and holiday required
  • No on-call duties

Physical & Patient Care Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull required weights as noted
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Adapt care to meet patient-specific needs including age, culture, language, and disabilities

No prior travel experience is required for this position.
