Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Shift Details

  • Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend

Job Summary

  • Accountable for care of a group of patients on a telemetry unit.
  • Focus on safe, effective patient- and family-centered care.
  • Responsible for patient assessment, care plan development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provides patient and family education.
  • Supervises licensed and non-licensed staff; functions as mentor/preceptor.
  • Participates in quality, safety, and service improvement efforts.
  • Applies evidence-based practice within a Practice Governance framework.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky.
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience in an inpatient setting.
  • Acute care nursing experience.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assessments and reassessments according to policy and patient condition.
  • Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise individualized patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
  • Educate patients and families regarding care and discharge instructions.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to licensed and non-licensed personnel.
  • Mentor and precept nursing staff.
  • Promote teamwork and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance.
