- Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend
Job Summary
- Accountable for care of a group of patients on a telemetry unit.
- Focus on safe, effective patient- and family-centered care.
- Responsible for patient assessment, care plan development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provides patient and family education.
- Supervises licensed and non-licensed staff; functions as mentor/preceptor.
- Participates in quality, safety, and service improvement efforts.
- Applies evidence-based practice within a Practice Governance framework.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky.
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Experience in an inpatient setting.
- Acute care nursing experience.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assessments and reassessments according to policy and patient condition.
- Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise individualized patient care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
- Educate patients and families regarding care and discharge instructions.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to licensed and non-licensed personnel.
- Mentor and precept nursing staff.
- Promote teamwork and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance.
