RN - Operating Room (Hybrid)

Job Summary

• Accountable for care of a group of patients in the Operating Room setting.
• Focus on safe, effective patient- and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
• Responsible for supervising licensed and non-licensed staff.
• Applies evidence-based practice and education within a Practice Governance framework.
• Uses the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
• Emphasizes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction.
• Mentors and precepts staff.

Job Duties

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments; make sound independent clinical decisions.
• Initiate, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care as needed.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams; utilize resources appropriately.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide and evaluate patient and family education related to care, treatment, and discharge.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel.
• Facilitate teamwork and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives and implement practice changes.
• Comply with regulatory standards.
• Participate in the Practice Governance model.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in Urology and Thoracic Surgery cases

Shift Details

• Day shift: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, four days per week.
• Call schedule: one overnight call per week and every 4th weekend.
• Weekend call hours: from 3:00 PM Friday until 6:30 AM Monday.
• Total hours per week: 32 hours.
