Registered Nurse - Surgery Center

Job Summary

Provide nursing care under general supervision to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring physiological data, assisting physicians with exams and minor procedures, and coordinating patient care and discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned group of patients.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments.
• Assist physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor and intervene based on patients’ physiological data.
• Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products.
• Communicate care plans with patients and families.
• Make referrals for patient care needs.
• Delegate tasks to support staff.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oklahoma.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Ambulatory Surgery, including experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Excellent intravenous (IV) skills.
• Ability to instill prescribed pupil-dilating drops.
• Experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or higher) from a board-approved program.
• Familiarity with surgical eye cases such as cataracts, cornea, retina, glaucoma, and plastics.

Work Schedule

• 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Contract Length

• 13 weeks
