Description

Registered Nurse (RN) ICU - Pediatrics

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Direct Care Registered Nurse
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week


Job Description

Provide nursing care under general supervision to pediatric ICU patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing an assigned group of patients
  • Documenting patient responses and changes in physician orders
  • Assisting physicians with examinations and minor procedures
  • Monitoring physiological data and intervening as needed
  • Administering medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products
  • Delivering competent patient care and communicating care plans to patients and families
  • Making referrals for patient care needs and delegating tasks to support staff

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience

Education

  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Licensure & Certifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association

  • General nursing duties and other assigned responsibilities as needed
