Role Overview
Hospital-based registered nurse role on a mixed medical-surgical and stepdown surgical transplant unit. The unit cares for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients, as well as pre-transplant patients being evaluated during inpatient stay.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- acute care surgical floor experience
- Med Surg experience
- Acute Care experience
Preferred Qualifications
- ENT experience
- Transplant experience
- Preceptor experience
- Charge experience
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for assigned patients
- Document patient responses and changes in physician orders
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatment
- Monitor patient physiological data and intervene as needed
- Administer medications and manage intravenous infusions and blood products
- Communicate care plans and discharge information to patients and families
- Make referrals for patient care needs
- Delegate tasks to support staff
