RN Observation
Location
- Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract
- 13 weeks
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma
- DOU - Direct Observation Unit experience
- 2 years of experience in DOU - Direct Observation Unit
- DOU - Direct Observation Unit experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Trauma experience
Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Some computer skills
Role Overview
- Provides nursing care in a hospital setting for patients with a range of health problems
- Manages an assigned group of patients
- Documents patient responses and changes in physician orders
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatment
- Monitors patient physiological data and intervenes as needed
- Administers medications
- Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
- Communicates care plans and discharge information to patients and families
- Makes referrals for patient care needs
- Delegates tasks to support staff
