Travel RN ICU Position - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Job Details

  • Specialty: RN ICU (Acuity Adaptable Unit, not a pure ICU)
  • Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years ICU experience
  • Unit Info: May float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles as needed
  • Electronic Health Record: EPIC

Work Schedule

  • Every Other Week (EOW) or as needed
  • Every Other Holiday (EOH) or as needed

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
  • License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and valid)

Required Exams, Tests & Competencies

  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics) completed within a year of start, updated yearly, minimum 80% score
  • Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% or national benchmark passing score), updated every 3 years
  • Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of at least 80%)
  • Ascension Epic Test-Out (Epic test results and training checklist with signed attestation)
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, completed within one year of start, updated annually)
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
  • Fit Test (annual, preferred prior to start)
  • Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
  • Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire or IGRA test results
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within 90 days of start
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (done onsite)
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip training
  • Ascension Unit Specific Checklist (optional for onboarding)
  • Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
  • Ascension 2 Professional References (at least two)
  • Ascension Criminal Background Check (including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, National Sex Offender, etc.)
  • Ascension EPLS (Exclusionary Party List System) check within 90 days of start
  • Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days of start)
  • Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (provided upon initial assignment and updates)
  • Ascension Employment Verification (third-party verification for past 7 years)
  • Ascension Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no filters)
  • Legal documentation of name change (if applicable)

This position requires thorough credentialing and compliance with Ascension Health standards prior to and during the assignment.
