Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery (LTA)
Location: Anderson, Indiana
Specialty: Labor and Delivery Nursing
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Certifications and Skills
- BLS (American Heart Association required)
- Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN, Relias, or equivalent within past 2 years if not covered on competency exam)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Basic and Advanced (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics)
Required Licenses and Verifications
- Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- Driver’s License or State ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements)
Onboarding and Testing Requirements
- Ascension Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% or national benchmark, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA; minimum 80%, updated yearly)
- Ascension Fetal Monitoring certification or proof of recent training
- Ascension Unit Specific Checklist (optional, uploaded by unit leader)
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation (6-hour pre-hire training)
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
- Ascension Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, updated annually)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred before start (annual update)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Recent testing required with annual TB questionnaire
- Positive PPD: Negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to assignment, updated annually
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
Professional Documentation
- Resume/Profile submission required
- At least two professional references required
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (updated annually)
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start
- Education Verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start)
- Employment Verification for past 7 years (updated annually)
- Confirmation of Assignment documentation upon initial assignment and extensions
Additional Notes
- FACIS Questionnaire required if any disciplinary actions exist
- All required documents must be current and compliant prior to start
- Some onboarding components are completed onsite
This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs who meet the above credentialing and health requirements and are seeking a 13-week long-term assignment in Indiana.
