Job Opportunity: Travel RN Medical/Surgical
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Information
- Level 1 facility (St. Francis Location-Level 1)
Required Credentials & Compliance
Certifications
- BLS (Must be AHA certified)
- NIH Certification (updated yearly for Group A, every 2 years for Groups B-F)
- MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
- Ascension Color Vision Test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
Licenses & Verifications
- Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
- Driver's License/State ID (must be current and match address requirements)
Testing & Checklists
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year, updated yearly, minimum 80% score)
- Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of at least 80%, two attempts allowed)
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, completed within one year of start, updated annually)
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
Onboarding & Professional Requirements
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (done onsite)
- Ascension Nova StatStrip (pre-hire modules for non-allied positions)
- Ascension Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background)
- Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
- Ascension 2 Professional References (at least two professional references)
- Ascension Criminal Background Check (including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; updated annually)
- Ascension EPLS (within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days)
- Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days of start, updated if break in service > 90 days)
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (agency letterhead with start/end dates)
- Ascension Employment Verification (third-party verification for past 7 years, updated annually)
Personal Health History & Vaccinations
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required for flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Positive PPD or Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire (must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, X-ray within a year, TB questionnaire)
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within 1 year and 30 days of start
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred prior to start, updated annually
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
Notes
- Some documents and tests must be completed prior to start or within specified timeframes.
- Certain trainings and attestations require agency or unit leader upload and verification.
- Compliance with all credentialing and onboarding requirements is mandatory for assignment clearance.
This position is ideal for RNs with Medical/Surgical experience who meet the detailed credentialing and compliance requirements for a Level 1 facility in Wichita, Kansas.
