Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical (Travel)

Location: Mequon, Wisconsin

Job Description

• Telemetry background required (ability to read telemetry)
• At least 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience required
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
• No artificial/acrylic nails; nails must be short (< 1/4 inch)
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed
• NIH; EOW, EOH (likely referring to specific certifications or competencies)

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• Ascension-specific certifications and competencies including:

  • Ascension Color Vision
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics)
  • Ascension EKG Exam
  • Ascension Epic Test-Out
  • NIH Certification
• Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• Positive PPD or IGRA with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days of start
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• Fit Test: Required annually (specific mask types required for WI and MI)
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually

Additional Requirements

• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills verification)
• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days prior to assignment
• Employment and Education Verification within 90 days prior to start
• Professional references: at least two qualifying references required prior to first assignment
• Resume/Profile submission required

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Notes

• Must comply with Ascension onboarding and credentialing requirements
• Floating to other units or nearby sites may be required based on staffing needs
