Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Job Description
- Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) or based on department needs; Every Other Hour (EOH) rotating with regular staff
- May need to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed
- Must have experience with EPIC electronic health record system
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MOAB) or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
- EPLS (Emergency Pediatric Life Support)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Fit Test (3M 1860 Regular, 3M 1860 Small, or 3M 1870+), updated annually
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Varicella immunity proof (two vaccines, serology, or history verified by provider); no declinations accepted
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Color vision test prior to start, updated every 3 years
Professional & Onboarding Requirements
- Resume/Profile submission required
- Two professional references required prior to first assignment
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days prior to start; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
- Employment verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start; updated if break in service > 90 days
- License and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Skills checklist completed within one year of start; updated annually for specialty
- Specialty exam completed prior to first assignment; updated every 3 years (minimum 80% passing score)
- Core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) completed within a year of start; updated every 3 years (minimum 80% passing score)
- EKG exam completed with passing score of at least 80%; updated every 3 years
- Badge photo (forward facing, white or blue background) required
