Job Opportunity: RN Step Down

Location: Brookfield, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Job Description

• Provide nursing care for a diverse patient population including stroke, cardiac (preferably cardiac drips), post-operative (orthopedic, genitourinary, gynecological, general surgery), and general medical patients.
• Must be adaptable and able to float within skill set to other onsite units or facilities within a 40-mile radius as needed.
• Utilize EPIC electronic health record system.
• Schedule includes every 3rd weekend or every other weekend based on department needs.
• Experience with travel nursing is preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least 1 year of recent PCU experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Completion of onboarding modules including core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.), specialty exams, and EPIC test-out.
• Submission of a professional resume/profile and signed assignment agreement.
• Submission of a clear, forward-facing badge photo with a white or blue background (no alterations).
• Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start.
• Completion of skills checklist annually.
• Confirmation of assignment documentation upon initial assignment and extensions.

Additional Notes

• Must be willing to work extended hours and flexible scheduling as needed.
• Prior travel nursing experience is preferred but not explicitly required.
• Floating to other units or nearby sites may be necessary based on staffing needs.
