Job Opportunity: RN Step Down
Location: Brookfield, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Description
- Provide nursing care for a diverse patient population including stroke, cardiac (preferably cardiac drips), post-operative (orthopedic, genitourinary, gynecological, general surgery), and general medical patients.
- Must be adaptable and able to float within skill set to other onsite units or facilities within a 40-mile radius as needed.
- Utilize EPIC electronic health record system.
- Schedule includes every 3rd weekend or every other weekend based on department needs.
- Experience with travel nursing is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least 1 year of recent PCU experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Completion of onboarding modules including core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.), specialty exams, and EPIC test-out.
- Submission of a professional resume/profile and signed assignment agreement.
- Submission of a clear, forward-facing badge photo with a white or blue background (no alterations).
- Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start.
- Completion of skills checklist annually.
- Confirmation of assignment documentation upon initial assignment and extensions.
Additional Notes
- Must be willing to work extended hours and flexible scheduling as needed.
- Prior travel nursing experience is preferred but not explicitly required.
- Floating to other units or nearby sites may be necessary based on staffing needs.
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with step-down or intermediate care expertise seeking a long-term assignment with varied patient care responsibilities and opportunities to work in a dynamic clinical environment.
